As a rule of thumb, artwork should be placed no more than five to nine inches above a sofa and no more than seven to ten inches above a table. The placement of your artwork should also relate to its surroundings. As a guideline for proportion, one or more pictures (including mirrors or other wall décor) should cover about 2/3 of the wall space above the piece of furniture. For example, if you have a 6 foot wide sofa, plan on a single picture or an arrangement that is about 4 feet wide and centered above the sofa.

Does your bathroom fit your lifestyle? Maybe you live a fast-paced lifestyle where you never have time for more than a quick shower in the morning. Perhaps you like a long, leisurely, relaxing soak in a jacuzzi tub at night. Either way, how you plan to design the bathroom reflects both your aesthetic taste and lifestyle, and all of this impacts your costs and price range for accessories.

Large corner bathtubs are usually about five-six feet in length. They might be square, rectangular, or circular in shape. Freestanding bathtubs are available, but the drop-in models are more popular. This type of corner bathtub is dropped into a raised platform called a deck. The deck can be designed to match or complement the rest of the bathroom décor and might be covered with quarried tile, stone, glass tile, brick, or specially sealed natural wood. Many homeowners take advantage of the deck by placing candles, plants, soaps, sponges, or washcloths on the surface.
