My husband and I did it ourselves! Most important it looks great and we haven’t even painted yet! We looked at many basement finishing systems and WAHOO is the only system that we could purchase and install ourselves. We could not afford to pay a contractor to install it! The delivery driver was very polite and take great care in unloading our walls from the truck! THANK YOU SO MUCH DAVE AND ANNE AND THE EMLOYEES OF WAHOO WALLS! MICHIGAN MADE PRODUCTS – WE SALUTE YOU!
Were seeing a lot of remodeling going on, and that’s a lot different from new floor staining projects, says Barbara Sargent of Kemiko Concrete Products, Leonard, Texas. When you pull up carpet or tile, you never know what you might run into. Carpet glue, tile mastics, water and urine stains, chalk marks, caulk, grease stains, paint drips, and rust spots are just a few of the contaminants that staining contractors have encountered, she notes.
Floating Floor: for people with moisture issues, a floor that can be floated is a great choice. This simply means that the flooring is not adhered to the sub-floor, but rather sits on a floating installation. These kinds of floors allow for a moisture barrier to be installed between the flooring itself and the basement’s concrete slab. Laminates and engineered flooring are perfect choices for this kind of flooring.
Most home owners finish a basement to fill a need of new space for children, an office or just more space to entertain and host family and friends. Adding 1,000 square feet of professional finished basement at $45.00 a square foot, is a lot less money than purchasing a new home where that same additional square footage will cost $150.00. In this case it seems to make financial sense.
