For those of you who like Curava, now they have a resin based mixed with the cement. It is smooth and maintenance free, unlike its origins. Sales have increased because of the resin base. In fact those who like quartz will like this resin mix. You get the look and it is maintenance free. The one I like the most are the one’s with blue and ice like tones. Other quartz that I have seen have many earth tones, like browns. Some of us need other tones like cool blues, greens and grays.
Very nice lens. I love information on decorating. (HGTV seems to have changed to more of buying and selling house station, than decorating- I miss the old programs) Thanks for doing this. Keep in mind that you don’t always have to buy towel racks at a home improvement store or IKEA. One of my friends used old … Read More
We gutted the entire space except for the tub which was in perfect condition and replaced the boring, square beige tiles with large format tiles of a subtle, threaded pattern. A decorative, highly textured band of stainless steel, stone, and glass runs through the shower and defines the counter of the new dark vanity which is now in scale with the room. New sconces in matte opal glass are twined with ribbons of forged iron. Walls are in a chic hue called Thunder Grey.
We also contracted with a much-liked house painter, who scraped, sandblasted and repainted the whole place. We changed the base color to a sage green, while the shutters and trim were repainted the original forest green. There are more and more convenient items to help you make the most of the small storage spaces in RVs. Here are some of my favorite ways to add space … Read More

Use large towel hooks behind the door for items like a towel, bathrobe, or even a travel kit that holds the essentials. Wall shelves are another possibility if you happen to have that wall space. If I owned the house I woud remove the large mirror and replace it with a smaller one to allow for wall shelves. The above picture is of a semi-detached shed built at the end of the garden many years ago; one side being my DIY home workshop and the other half (with its own separate … Read More

After application, you need to cleanup by sweeping away any leftover stain and residue with a broom after flooding the floor with water. It is always a good idea to shop vac the water so as to get the residue up and out of the pores of the concrete and make it a little easier for the stain to get into the pores. When the floor is thoroughly dry, it is a good idea to apply a sealer agent … Read More
Plants make wonderful additions to bathrooms. They add a spirit enhancing, oasis-like feel. They also help brighten up bathrooms-both visually and on an emotional level. There are many plants that thrive in bathroom environments better than they would in other areas of the home. When adding plants to your bathroom, there is some basic advice that you should follow.
Another hot appliance that’s quickly gaining in popularity is the towel warmer. Imagine stepping out of the bathtub or shower and being treated to a nice, toasty towel! Plumbing a retrofit panel usually means removing the existing shower head and replacing it with a hose or pipe that will feed water to the panel. This means that existing valves will still be used to turn the water on and adjust the temperature, but in exchange it is very easy to do. Adding a luxury bath or shower or a luxury bath … Read More

After that, I’d love to upcycle some old wood or metal to create shelving above the toilet and next to the sink. The plumbing towel racks are also definitely going in. Bathrooms would be first on my list. Adding grid tied solar power and upgrading and relocating central air upstairs would be next. If those were already done, remodel sunroom and detached garage. Thank you for sharing this … Read More
Okay, so this is kind of a silly post that I actually don’t believe will generate anything, but I thought it might be fun anyway. We’re about to finish our basement and I am not a very visual person, so trying to picture what it might look like is difficult for me. I’m sure we’ll get lots of help with that from the contractor and most likely will go with one of the designs they come up with, but I thought it might be fun to see if I could tap into the wisdom of my small crowd.

This past weekend, we did a quick remodel of our bathroom. My spouse repainted the walls, doors, and trim. He replaced the baseboard and the vanity, because water took a toll on our only bathroom, and the laminate started to come off the vanity. We have new baseboard that is a type of vinyl, but it looks like wood now that it is painted and caulked. My spouse is so handy from fixing everything around here that he works fast. The vanity and sink that we removed was donated to Stardust: Goodwill’s version of a ReStore. The sink was in great condition.
We live in one. Have been in it for almost 8 years now. It is 45 X 80 X 17. We originally planned to build a house at a later date, but have recently decided to just tear out what we have done and re-do it and are … Read More
Rather than trying to do the square-peg/round hole scenario trying to make another door guide of the wrong size refit the mold of the other construction configuration by drilling a new set of holes into a door guide (easily cracking the new guide) – we suggest trying to glue together your broken door guide.
This original sales flyer was included with a folder of interesting vintage camping manuals from the original owner. The specs here are close but not exact to another vintage sales flyer I’ve seen, but since this is the one in my camper, I’m going with it. The other benefit of the Compact’s light weight is that we can move it around the campground by hand if we need to using just the hitch wheel it came with. I toured an old one a year ago and fell in love with it. It has such space and … Read More
