If a comfortable abode is your desire, then don’t buy a farmhouse I live in an old farmhouse on 10 acres in Southern Michigan that I purchased about 22 years ago. The house was built before 1874, which is the date of the earliest plat map that shows a dwelling on this property. We found through conversations with people in the area related to the builder and first owner, that he was in the Kaisers Army in Germany. He lost a leg in the war and apparently his hearing from being strapped to the wheel of a canon cart as punishment for some misdemeanor. Apparently he was a carpenter and he must have been good at his trade because this house still stands after nearly 140 years.
We had purchased this charcoal grill to help us during the construction when the power had to be turned off. It served our needs from making hotdogs, hamburgers, and full meals which could be cooked on the grill. It was bought for temporary use. However, we continue to use it until we can build our permanent outdoor grilling area. that transformation is so lovely i have just wired the dynamite to my own bath and have begun the countdown. WOW, maria, i am loving. i so honor your work and your generosity in sharing the fruits of it. peace to you right where you are.
Oh, habee I could do with that bath. My old bones getting stiffer and stiffer but no money – no bath. Excellent work. In this day and age, it is important to repurpose, to keep all of this out of our landfills. Good work, and keep on doing the same thing with the rest of the house. Originally a telephone cubbyhole, with empty wall space behind, the size was increased and doors were added on the hallway side.
I’m of those wanting to save cash. I must say that I do save lot. It’s really fun as well. But there are times I have to leave it up to the experts. Great hub, makes me proud to be a DIYer. I have seen some of this recycled glass surfaces in the big box stores like Home Depot. They really do look pretty! Something to consider if ever replacing our countertops. Voted interesting. Thanks!
Like it or not a comfort room is one of the important part of a house. This is the place where you start your day, take a shower, relax and release your evil stench. So why not give this part of the house some importance and install lighting on it to set the mood. Hi another great Hub, I always forget to buy spares of things like handles and knobs and am frustrated to find they are no longer sold when i need more. Must remember to buy more. Good job on the hub. It just goes to show that no matter the size of your bathroom you can always do something with it. Thanks!
